Our MissionThe Macromedia Professional Developer Group (MMDev) is an information technology professional community in the Greater China Region. Our members include both application developers and system administrators who make use of the advanced Macromedia Web technology. We provide opportunities for all members to:
MMDev is a non-profit-making, member-run organization dedicated to furthering the knowledge of Macromedia technology particularly on the server side. We serve IT professionals in Hong Kong and its surrounding areas including Taiwan, Macau and the Southern part of China. We are a volunteer-based organization, so your contributions will make it a stronger community for all of us. We welcome volunteers to
donate their time to serve our community and share their experience in Web
development and administration. The group meets once
every other month. Members are welcome to share their experience and IT
vendors are also welcome to present their new products and services. Meeting
times are typically on a weekday evening. Please check our meeting
schedule published on this Website.

BackgroundMMDev is the descendent of the first Hong Kong ColdFusion User Group. After Macromedia and Allaire announced to merge on 16 January 2001, the Group was renamed ServerMMUG in October 2001. As Macromedia expands its range of server products and development tools, members of the Group are now more interested in the new Macromedia development tools like the Flash Player SDK, Central and Flex in addition to ColdFusion. In the June 2004 AGM Meeting it was decided that the group be renamed to Macromedia Professional Developer Group.
